Every day is a magnificent adventure in Great Grandma's Garden! Naomi gets to have her own personal adventures every day in the garden. She meets all of her friends there, the butterfly, the dragonfly, the bumble bee, the honey bee, the queen bee, the lady bug, the cricket, the rock chuck, the baby trout, the grandpa trout, her koi friends Hopper and Dusty Shimmer along with the fancy goldfish friends. On a sunny morning, Alex woke up excitedly. And shouted, "Today is I Can Do It Day! Excited," and jumped out of bed. At breakfast, Alex helped his mom set the table. As the day ended, Alex's heart was full. He had built a tall tower, painted a colorful picture, and even carried his own bowl! He learned that with a little effort and a lot of "I can do it" spirit, he could accomplish amazing things. On the way home, Alex held his mom's hand tightly. "Mommy," he said with a big grin, "I can do it!" His mom hugged him close. "Yes, Alex," she said, "you sure can!"

Our Kindergarten class is learning how to deal with big emotions. When they are feeling overwhelmed by big emotions they should tell an adult they need a break, how we can help them or what is making them feel that way. We want to help them understand their feeling so that they will be able to learn to self-regulate. We encourage deep breathing, breaks, walks, alone time and telling adults how they feel.
