The Line Fire is a large active wildfire in San Bernardino County, Southern California. The fire began on September 5 near the community of Highland and spread into the San Bernardino National Forest. The fire has forced the evacuation of multiple communities. On September 10, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department identified and arrested 34-year-old Justin Wayne Halstenberg, a resident of Norco, on suspicion of starting the fire on September 5. As of October 8, 2024, the Line Fire has burned 43,978 acres (17,797 hectares) and is 87 percent contained. The cause of the fire is believed to be arson.[3] It began during a multiple-day heatwave in Southern California. Downtown Los Angeles reached 112 °F (44 °C), the third time that temperature had been reached since 1877. The Line Fire has led to mandatory evacuation orders for more than 500 homes. Initial evacuation warnings were issued for neighborhoods in East Highland in the early morning of September 6, 2024. By September 7, 2024, evacuation orders would be placed for neighborhoods along the foothills, extending into San Bernardino, and for neighborhoods east of Calle Del Rio. Over the following days the mountain communities of Green Valley Lake, Cedar Glen, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment, and Big Bear Valley were placed under evacuation warnings. Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for Running Springs, Arrowbear Lake, Angelus Oaks, Seven Oaks, Forest Falls, and Mountain Home Village.

Once upon a time, over a thousand years ago,in the 11th Century, there lived a brave Viking named Leif Erickson. Leif loved the sea, just like his father before him. He had a big ship, and he was always looking for new places to explore. One day, Leif heard stories about a mysterious land far to the west, beyond the cold waters from where he lived. Excited and curious, he gathered his crew and set sail. They packed their ship with food and strong shields for the journey. The wind blew, and the waves were bigger than expected, they splashed against his ship as they sailed across the ocean. The stars guided their way. For many days and nights, they sailed, until one day, they saw land in the distance! What could this new place be? Leif and his crew sailed closer and found a land with tall trees, and grapes growing on vines. Leif was so happy to see such a beautiful place that he named it Vinland, which means "Land of Wine." The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. Happy went to Switzerland in the time period of July 17th to August 6th, we get there by airplanes but it’s a very long trip, it took us about 17 hours to get there(including times on every single airplane,there was two in total).we went there for a holiday and of course, to stay cool from the hot weather in Taiwan (southern part is about 40 degrees C and the other parts about 38).We did a lot of different things there like shopping, taking photos,climbing small mountains……it was great.

Benny the bunny loved playing in the meadow with his bright red balloon. He would toss it in the air, chase it through the grass, and watch it float above the flowers. But one windy afternoon, a big gust carried Benny’s balloon high into the sky and far, far away. “Oh no! My balloon!” Benny cried, hopping after it. He searched near the big oak tree, around the sparkling pond, and even under the berry bushes, but the balloon was nowhere to be found. Just as he was about to give up, his friend Mia the mouse scurried over. “What’s wrong, Benny?” she asked. “My balloon is gone,” Benny sighed. “I’ll never find it.” Mia thought for a moment and then squeaked, “Let’s look together!” So Benny and Mia searched side by side. Along the way, they met Ollie the owl. “I saw something red floating toward the hill,” Ollie hooted. “Maybe that’s your balloon!” Benny’s ears perked up. “Come on, let’s go!” They ran toward the hill and found Finn the fox watching something bob in the branches of a tall tree. “Is that your balloon?” Finn asked, pointing with his fluffy tail. Benny’s eyes lit up. “It is!” But the tree was too tall for Benny, Mia, or Finn to climb. Just then, Ollie flapped his strong wings and flew up to the highest branch. Carefully, he nudged the balloon free, and it floated gently down into Benny’s paws. “Thank you, everyone!” Benny beamed. “I thought I lost my balloon, but I found something even better—friends who help each other!” Mia, Ollie, and Finn all smiled. They spent the rest of the day playing together, knowing that friendship was even more special than a red balloon.
