The Night Before
Peter meets anxiety
Peter couldn't sleep. Tomorrow was his first day at school. He tossed and turned, thinking about all the new faces he would meet. His mom noticed and gave him a warm hug, promising it would be wonderful.
1
At breakfast, Peter's spoon clattered against his bowl. His brother Victor noticed Peter's shaky hands. 'You'll love school,' Victor assured him with a grin. 'I promise!'
2
Walking into class, Peter's heart raced. Then, a friendly voice greeted him. It was Teacher Robin, with a bright smile. 'Welcome, Peter!' he said, making Peter feel a little better.
3
Peter sat alone until a boy sat next to him. 'I'm Sam,' the boy said. They quickly became friends, sharing stories and laughs. Peter's anxiety started to fade.
4
Teacher Robin announced a spelling bee. Peter's stomach knotted. He hadn't expected a test so soon. But remembering Victor's words, he took a deep breath.
5
Peter spelled every word correctly. His classmates cheered, and he felt a surge of pride. Even the small victories mattered. Peter realized he could face challenges head-on.
6
At lunch, Peter shared his sandwich with Sam. They laughed over silly jokes. Peter felt happy and included, forgetting his worries for a while.
7
In art class, Peter expressed his feelings through painting. His artwork was colorful and vibrant. Teacher Robin praised his creativity, boosting Peter's confidence.
8
Suddenly, the fire alarm rang. Peter panicked, feeling lost in the crowd. But then, he remembered to stay calm. Following Teacher Robin, he safely exited the building.
9
Outside, Peter found Sam and they held hands. It was just a drill, but facing it together made them braver. Peter felt relieved and grateful for his friend.
10
Back inside, Teacher Robin read them a story. It was about courage and friendship. Peter saw himself in the story, feeling more connected to his classmates.
11
Peter realized that everyone feels anxious sometimes. It was normal and okay. This discovery made him feel less alone and more understood.
12
School ended, and Peter couldn't wait to tell his mom and Victor about his day. He talked about his new friend, the spelling bee, and even the fire drill.
13
His mom hugged him, proud of how brave he'd been. Victor high-fived him, impressed by his brother's courage. Peter felt loved and supported.
14
That night, Peter reflected on his day. He had faced his fears and made a friend. He realized that each day is a new adventure, filled with opportunities.
