The Redwood Forrest
John and Momma take a hike
John Jr. and Momma decided to take a hike in the Redwood Forrest. The trees were tall and the air was fresh. John Jr. was excited to explore the forest with Momma.

As they walked along the trail, they spotted a friendly raccoon. Momma named him Rocky. Rocky had a mischievous glint in his eyes, but he seemed friendly. John Jr. and Momma shared their snacks with Rocky, and they all became friends.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered in the sky, and rain started to pour down. Momma and John Jr. looked for a place to take cover, but everything was wet. They felt a little scared, but Momma held John Jr.'s hand and assured him that they would be okay.

Just when they thought the rain wouldn't stop, Rocky came to the rescue. He led them to a cozy little cave where they could stay dry. Momma and John Jr. were so grateful to Rocky for helping them. They thanked him with big smiles.
4
Inside the cave, they found all sorts of interesting things. There were shiny rocks, colorful leaves, and even some friendly bugs. John Jr. was fascinated by the cave's wonders. Momma and John Jr. laughed and played, forgetting all about the rain outside.
5
When the rain finally stopped, they stepped out of the cave and saw a beautiful rainbow in the sky. Momma explained to John Jr. how rainbows are made, and they both felt happy and hopeful. It was a magical moment.
6
As they continued their hike, Rocky stayed with them for a while. But when they reached the end of the trail, it was time to say goodbye. John Jr. gave Rocky a big hug, and Momma thanked him for being such a wonderful friend.

As they walked back home, John Jr. and Momma talked about all the fun they had. They both agreed that even though the rain had caused a little trouble, they were grateful for the adventure and for meeting Rocky. It was a hike they would never forget.
