A New Friend
I am me…
Amelia was a little girl who loved exploring. One day, she found a black cat in her backyard. The cat had bright eyes and a gentle purr. Amelia decided to name her new friend Cat. They quickly became inseparable.

Amelia was different from other kids. She was autistic, which made her see the world in a special way. Sometimes, loud noises bothered her. But she loved the way the leaves danced in the wind. Her mummy always told her she was unique.

Amelia loved spending time in the garden. She would watch the flowers bloom and the butterflies flutter. Cat would sit beside her, purring softly. The garden was a place where Amelia felt calm and happy. It was her little paradise.

Amelia's mummy always explained things to her. She told Amelia that being different was okay. Amelia learned that everyone has their own way of seeing the world. Cat seemed to understand her too. Together, they made a perfect team.

One day, Amelia and Cat went on an adventure. They imagined they were pirates searching for hidden treasure. The backyard became a vast ocean. Amelia giggled as Cat pretended to be the captain. It was the best adventure ever.

Amelia decided to invite her friends over. She wanted to show them her garden and introduce them to Cat. Her friends loved playing pretend games. They all learned about each other's uniqueness. Amelia felt proud to be herself.

Amelia realized something important. She was happy being who she was. Her mummy always reminded her, 'I am me, because I am autistic, you see.' Amelia smiled and hugged Cat tightly. Together, they knew they could conquer the world.
