First Day of Kindergarten
Don't Yuck My Yum!
It was the first day of kindergarten for Cinnamon, Ginger, Saffron, and Nutmeg. Each of them brought special lunches from their homes. Cinnamon had a spicy biryani, Ginger had dumplings, Saffron had a colorful curry, and Nutmeg had a delicious pie. They were all excited to share their favorite foods with their new friends. Everyone sat together in the classroom, ready to enjoy their meals.

As they opened their lunchboxes, Salt, another student, looked at Saffron's curry. 'That looks funny and smells weird,' Salt said. Saffron felt sad and didn't want to eat her lunch anymore. The room got quiet, and everyone looked at Salt. They didn't know what to say.

Just then, second-grade helpers Basil and Rosemary walked in. They saw what happened and decided to help. 'Don't yuck someone’s yum,' Basil said kindly. 'Everyone's food is special to them,' Rosemary added. Salt realized his mistake and said sorry to Saffron.

Saffron smiled and accepted Salt's apology. Then, everyone started sharing stories about their favorite foods. They learned about different cultures and recipes from around the world. From that day on, the classroom became a friendly place where everyone's lunch was celebrated. They all enjoyed learning about each other's special meals.
