A Kind Deed

A Princess with a Big Heart

Mia is a cheerful and hardworking child. She loves playing Chinese garter and luksong baka with her friends. Every afternoon, after class, she never runs out of energy to play. One afternoon, after coming home from school, she saw her playmates inviting her to play. She remembered that she had a Filipino test the next day, but she thought, "I'll just play for a little while." She went outside and happily joined the game. She was having so much fun that she didn’t notice the time. It was already dark when her mother called out to her, "Mia, it's late! Come inside and rest!" She quickly went inside the house, but she was already feeling very tired. She thought about reading her book first, but the moment she lay on her bed, she immediately fell asleep. The next day, she woke up with a nervous feeling. "Oh no! We have a test today!" She glanced at the clock and quickly got dressed. On her way to school, she tried to recall their lesson, but she couldn’t remember anything. As she sat in the classroom, the teacher suddenly announced, "Prepare your paper and pencil, the test is about to begin." When she saw the questions, she felt cold with anxiety. She could barely answer anything because she hadn’t read her lesson. She looked around and saw her classmates answering quickly, while she sat there, nervous and desperately thinking of what to do.
